Tiger Act is our theatre club here at Lee’s Summit High School and is the umbrella organization for all things theatre in our department! We meet once a month on the first Tuesday of the month in the PAC @ 2:40.
Students are capable in lettering in theatre if they are a member of Tiger Act and meet the requirements during the course of the year!
The Tiger Act club sponsors several activities throughout the year such as our annual lock-in, Trick or Treat So Tots Can Eat, going as a group to see the shows at other local high schools, State Thespian Conference, The International Thespian Conference, as well as traveling abroad to places like New York & London!
So how do you get involved?! We’re glad you asked! It’s as simple as attending the meetings and paying your yearly $25.00 dues! At the meetings you find out everything that is up and coming and how you can get involved!
Tiger act is also a great way to get plugged in and involved in our shows on the various crews we offer! If you are interested be sure to attend the next meeting!

[wptabs][wptabtitle] Lettering[/wptabtitle] [wptabcontent]As a dues paying member of Tiger Act you can become eligible to earn a letter in theatre. The requirements for lettering are:
- Attend at least 6 Tiger Act meetings throughout the year
- Meet the requirements of participation for at least 1 fundraiser
- Dues must be paid
- See at least 5 shows that match the show requirements
- Complete at least 1 theatre related community service project[/wptabcontent]
[wptabtitle]Thespians[/wptabtitle][wptabcontent]Lee’s Summit High School is proud to participate in the “International Thespian Society” as Troupe #1885.
The International Thespian Society is an international program that honors theatre and theatre students who are dedicated to excellence in the art. This program was established in 1929 and is 2 million plus members strong including such names as Tom Hanks, Val Kilmer, Madonna, Kathy Bates, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Gene Hackman, Dick Van Dyke, Goldie Hawn, John Goodman, Stephen Schwartz and many others!
We participate at both the state and international level with this organization attending the State Thespian Festival and the International Thespian Festival where students audition for scholarhips, see some great shows, and have a great time learning more about their art.
We induct all eligible Tiger Act members who wish to become a part and have met the Thespian requirements at our Spring Theatre Awards Ceremony.
The requirements for becoming a Thespian are:
- Must earn at least 10 Thespian Points
- Must participate in at least 2 full length shows or the equivalent there of. (1 full length show & 2 one-acts)
- Must pay the one time $23.oo dues[/wptabs]
